It all started innocently enough. Ashish Shrestha, who works with Amistad’s Peer Outreach Workers, challenged Brooks Ross, who works with Milestone’s HOME Team, to a push-up contest. Ashish lost the contest, sparking some social media taunting.
Wanting to redeem themselves, Amistad challenged Milestone to settle the feud on the basketball court, and thus the Amistone games were born.
Come join us on Friday, July 23 at 4pm at the basketball courts on the Eastern Promenade in Portland, and cheer on Milestone as we open the next chapter of this rivalry with Amistad.
Disclaimer: Milestone and Amistad are both wonderful organizations. We serve many of the same clients experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and mental health challenges. The Peer Outreach Workers and HOME Team collaborate daily to help clients live safe, healthy, productive, fulfilling lives. Milestone loves Amistad. And that’s why, when Milestone absolutely demolishes Amistad on the basketball court, it’s not going to be personal.
Game on.
