Extended Care for Substance use Disorders
For some people, especially those who have struggled with substance use all their lives, a short-term recovery program isn’t enough. They end up cycling in and out of programs, each time hoping and planning to maintain their recovery, but nothing seems to stick.
If this sounds like you, Milestone’s Residential Treatment Program might be for you. The only program of its kind in the state, this 21-bed extended care treatment program lasts between six and nine months. Individuals who have struggled with a lifetime of substance use live together on our campus in Old Orchard Beach, participating in trauma-informed individual and group therapy that probes the root causes of their substance use.
As participants near program completion, there is an opportunity to transition into the beach house for 30-90 days. This allows for clients to start the transition to the community, including working and/or going to school while also participating in groups and individual outpatient substance use counseling on campus. Milestone also has sober living apartments on campus that clients may transition into based on availability.
Milestone’s Extended Care program is open to men with a history of or current substance use. To learn more about the program or to begin the intake process contact Melissa Gilman at mgilman@milestone-recovery.org or 207-937-7001
